Conversations with Island Boy

I walked into the room where Island Boy was playing alone.  I heard him say the following.

IB: “I not playing with you anymore!”

Me: “Who are you playing with?”

IB: “Myself.”

I wonder what he did to make him not want to play anymore.

IB playing a game, made a mistake and said, “Holy Moly!”

IB stood on a stool in his room and declared, “I am king!  I am Max!  I say, ‘Be still!'”

Name that children’s book.

IB and I were enjoying a quiet moment on the couch with the cat.  We had Christmas music playing.

IB: Cat dances?

Me: Oh, no.  Cats don’t dance.  (I’m envisioning him making the cat dance.)

IB: Look at her tail.  Cat dances.

Me: Look at that!  You’re right!

IB:  Cat talks?

Me:  Well, she says, ‘Meow.  Meow.”

IB:  No, she says, ‘IB, you need pizza!’ Go get the pizza now, Mama!

(After thinking for a minute.)

Cat ride my bike!  VROOM!  VROOM!

Me: Now you’re just being silly.

IB:  Can I go to school today?

Me:  No, today we’re on vacation.

IB:  No, no, I mean ski school!

    Where the Wild Things Are.

One of my favorite things to hear the girls say is “wicked”. True New Englanders. “Mommy, I’m wicked tired.”

LOVE the cat conversations! Griffin will say to the girls “Don’t you dare do that!” Followed by “You DARED do that?” We are using it a lot during games, too fun! Love you!
