Conversations with Island Boy

IB was showing me his super, duper arm muscles. Forgetting the word for muscles he opted for, “I’m Michael-man!”

IB has been hankering for a play date with some friends from school.

IB:  No girls!  I only want boys to come to my house.

TM noticed this weekend that IB’s toes were peeking through his sneakers.  We were already out and about, so we stopped at Payless on the way home.

We had some helpful sales people who sold us IB’s shoes for $4.  We went back and found another $4 pair.

As we left, they bid us farewell.  IB turned back and said, “Goodbye…Ladies!”

I was so relieved.  I sincerely thought his pause would be, “Goodbye…Stinky Butts.”

IB:  We have a dog.  This is our dog.  It’s my dog, Subway Dude’s dog, The Fashionista’s dog, Papa’s dog and Mama’s dog.

IB likes to play at the Play Place at our local grocery store.   Some days the Play Place is full when we get there and IB has to shop with us.

This week we had lunch at the grocery store before we did our shopping. We asked IB if he wanted to go to the Play Place or stay with us.  He opted for the Play Place.  We warned him that it might be full.

IB:  Let’s go check it out.

We love these little phrases and wonder, “Who taught this kid English, anyway?”
