Yet Another Reason Why Springtime Sucks in Buffalo

I call it “ice mist.”  It is another reason why this season is the pits in Western New York.

It was super warm this weekend.  The ice on Lake Erie is now melting and blowing inland.  The misty fog moving through the streets is chilly and damp.

When I left home this morning (about 15 miles inland from downtown), the thermometer read 74 degrees.  Downtown, it feels as though it’s about 40 degrees.

Although this is a sign of spring, it mentally feels like another step backward toward winter.
