How I Spent My Summer Vacation

It started with a trip to Cooperstown.  Click here to read about it.

Hot on the heels of that, the entire family headed off to the Great Smoky Mountains, and a trip home through Washington DC.  Click here to read about that trip.

The annual Haiti picnic near Gettysburg, Pennsylvania was even better than we thought it would be.  Click here to read about it.

Later in the summer, I was reunited with friends with whom I had spent a semester in Paris 25 years earlier.  Our reunion took place in Saratoga.  It was golf, bars, restaurants, bands and the opening weekend of racing season at the historic track.

The summer concluded with our Great American Road Trip west:

Part One:  The Journey West

Part Two:  South Dakota 101

Part Three:  The Badlands

Part Four:  The Black Hills

Part Five:  The Long Journey Home Begins

Part Six:  Escape from Iowa

Part Seven:  Land of Lincoln

About 6,500 miles.  16 states and the District of Columbia.
